Short Term Care Insurance

Short Term Care is an indemnity plan which helps pay for the cost of care received after a medical situation occurs. It would provide funds to pay for assistance such as home health aids, nursing services and therapy for individuals who’s doctor certifies that home health care is “medically necessary”. It is an insurance product that pays out a stipulated amount of monies daily, weekly or monthly to an individual who needs care.

Any one, at any time, could incur a medical situation which requires additional home care, these policies help pay for that care. There are usually guidelines on the payout conditions and amounts, however these policies are more lenient on medical issues when a policy is being underwritten and pre-existing conditions in many cases will be covered after a policy has been in force for at least 6 months.
