My name is Milton Silverstein. I am 71 years young. My working career was a computer programmer, Systems Analyst and finally director of Systems development. This was a span of over 25 years. First Five was in Corporate offices of the food fair stores. The next 20 years was for the city of Philadelphia. After leaving the city I began a small computer forms and supplies business. I built the business over 15 years and still operate it on a regualr basis. Some years ago I was coerced into training to be a doctor clown as a volunteer. I have been "clowning" around at Saint Mary Medical Center for 5 years. My clown name is Dr. Botchit and I am an ineptologist. I became a caring clown because I understood that most patients need to have a break in the daily hospital routine. The experience of seeing a patients eyes light up when we enter their room is heartwarming to us and a great help to them. I like to let the patient guide me as to what I will say and do. Being a caring clown is one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. The thanks comes from the smiles and many times from what they say. My thanks goes to Dr. Teddy T. Clown for introducing me to this very rewarding endeavor. In addition I have volunteered my time for the past 20 something years for a NJ based Non-Profit called A.L.L.Y. (Alternate Living for Later Years). This organization provides cooperative housing for seniors who wish to remain independant but also want to live in a supportive household in a traditional neighborhood. Over the years we have purchased homes and remodeled them and then filled them with seniors so that they may live as families. A very satisfying experience. One thing I would like to say is "While I did not know Daniel Young when I became a client I felt comfortable from the first time we met to discuss my insurance needs.
