Hello Lydia,
Thank you so much for reading and contributing to our Blog! As for your questions, Medicare Supplements will still be available for purchase during the merge, both through American Continental and through Aetna. This will not cause any problems for current or potential policyholders. Purchasing a plan during the merge will not affect what plans are available for purchase, nor the billing or payment options. As far as a new card being issued, we have not received word on the marketing materials after the merge. It is possible but even if that were to be the case, a new card would be issued to your mother automatically and she would not have to request anything. Until such a time, she would use the existing card she would have been given. It is possible that even if they re-issue a new card, her ID number would likely remain the same. I hope we have answered your questions. Please let us know if you need any assistance with plan or company choices or with process the American Continental Plan F for your mother. We would be more than happy to assist you!

Are medicare supplements still available to purchase during the merge? If so, will it cause problems with a policy holder? We were looking at a Plan "F" with American Continental for my mother and we are now concerned that the change-over might affect her billing or payment. Also, would they have to issue her a new card?
